This is a super easy way to propagate a hard wood hydrangea shrub. At the end of May or after the plant develops full leaves, take the lowest lying branch and dig a 1″ trench under the branch. Cover with soil, loose mulch and a rock heavy enough to hold the branch down into the soil and mulch. Water regularly and let it sit until the end of August or when cooler weather approaches. Clip the branch from the mother plant allowing the new roots to sustain the plant and get stronger. Wait another two to three weeks and use this method below to safely remove from the ground and replant! **Tip** Check the forecast, try to do this before you get a batch of good rains. It will make watering the transplants much easier! đŸ™‚
