Ok, I’m hooked. Last year I happen to find some very inexpensive Sweet Alyssum and threw them in the rocks just to see what would happen. Well, I fell in love…that’s what happened. I loved how they alyssum just cascaded down the rocks, some formed huge mounds of flowers and others were petite and uniform. This year I totally went crazy. I was first in line in April when the little trays of 9 for $3.33 at Lowe’s made their way to the racks. The only thing I can say is that maybe next year I will purchase plants that are just a tad bigger. It took a while for these to fill in. I also planted a lemon thyme plant and some winter creeper to mix it up a bit. *Tip* Where you have the alyssum, let it stay all winter and then shake it out in the early spring after the last frost and baby alyssum will start sprouting everywhere later in the season!
